Description
Thrown Porcelain Egg by Seetal Kusbia
Seetal grew up around tables set with intention. Every meal a ceremony, a gathering, an expression of care. That care has followed her into clay.
‘Making beautiful things for the joy of it is its own quiet act of generosity, a chance to share something I love.
The closest I can get to describing my making is organised chaos: sketchbook pages liberated from their spines, nothing quite still. Ink lines overlapping, delicately carving out the form before I’ve found it myself. Each movement informs the next, until my hands are simply following something that’s already there.
I find myself chasing that same energy through every flourish I work into my pots — each one different, alive and moving.
And for me, its home is in porcelain: luminous, fluid, strong enough to hold everything I throw at it.’
