Monday Hand-building Classes – Taught by professional potter Will Broughton

Monday Evenings : 14^th September to 19th October 

6:00-9:00pm at Clay College, Middleport Pottery

Join us at Clay College to learn how to hand-build functional and sculptural pots without using a potter’s wheel. The class follows a series of projects delivered to the whole group, and will cover all of the making techniques needed to create pottery without using the wheel.

Taught by professional potter, Will Broughton, participants will learn how to create pots of high standard using slab, pinching and coiling techniques. The classes are run on a project basis and will build upon the previous week’s skill base as participants gain confidence and independence. Our courses are tailored to our students, so improvers are challenged with new forms and techniques to help them progress.

This class is suitable for beginners and returners.

Run over 6 weeks, students will make a pot a week, learning from the results as they go. By the end of the course, students will have gained invaluable techniques and processes to create hand-built pots and take home a collection of cherished hand-made pottery.
