During this course, you will learn to glaze, pack, fire and build with the guidance of Brian Dickenson.

Day timings 10 am – 4 pm. Firing Day will start at 8 am.

Day 1: Slip/Glaze and pack our on-site brick kiln.

Day 2: Fire kiln – Stage-by-stage instructions and keeping kiln logs.

Day 3: Kiln building lecture and demonstrations.

Day 4: Unpack and discuss results, troubleshooting and ongoing development.

We ask that you bring a selection of approx. 6-8 of your bisque-fired pots made in low iron stoneware, fired at 1280 (Cone 10). These must fit in an area of 50 x 30 cm with a 15 cm maximum height and 4 larger pieces maximum of 25 cm high. Please be aware this is estimated depending on the packing room. We suggest it is best to bring more stock in case we can fit in extra items and some very small pieces to pack in between areas.

All pieces are to be glazed at Clay College and slips and glazes will be provided.

Please note: There will be plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, and fruit for you to help yourself to throughout the day but lunch isĀ not provided on this course. There is a maximum of 8 places on this course.
