About Micki Schloessingk
Whilst working in a pottery in County Mayo, Ireland, Micki fell in love with the process of wood-firing and salt-glazing. Micki now lives and works in north Gower, where her studio and workshop stand among ancient woods overlooking a tidal river. The tranquillity and beauty of this landscape are found in Micki’s pots, which combine practicality with harmony of form. Each piece is either thrown on a continental kick wheel or hand-built using a stoneware clay from St Amand in France, which she slips and raw fires to 1300°.
