Introduction to Raku
March 10 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm| £75.00
This workshop will be run by Andy Mason, a potter with over 30 years of ceramics experience.
In this workshop, he combines his techniques with the great tradition of Raku, sharing his enthusiasm for this fascinating activity ~ a blend of art, alchemy, and surprise!
You will be guided and encouraged through creative glazing methods leading to dramatic ‘live’ kiln firings resulting in finished pots with the unique special effects of Raku. Andy will also introduce you to the fascinating history of Raku.
Suitable for all abilities, from absolute beginners to those who have ceramics experience. Allowing you to enjoy the event at your level, from a beginner’s curiosity or with a desire to express your artistic talent!
You’ll be offered a choice of 3 handmade pots, biscuit-fired ready to be glazed.
Refreshments will be available but we do not provide lunch. There is an on-site cafe at Middleport.
