Clay College Stoke, located in the historic setting of Middleport Pottery, offers mixed-ability evening classes to learn the technical skills of throwing pots, within a professional studio environment.

All are welcome, from beginners to those with some pottery experience,   The classes run during college term time in 6-week blocks. Each class will feature technical demonstrations, plus supported practice, and introduce creative techniques that you can develop if you wish to return and continue. You’ll select up to 6 medium-sized pots ready for glazing during week 6.  Once your pots are fired they will be ready for collection from Clay College.

Andy Mason, the class tutor, brings many years of expertise to help you develop your making skills & pottery interests.  As you progress he will demonstrate the relevance between technical skills, design, and aesthetic considerations, aspects which are evident in his studio range of tableware, and Raku.

This set of classes starts on 9th January and runs every Tuesday until 13th February.

Please note: we must allow time towards the end of the class to clean up our wheels in order to leave the premises by no later than 9.00pm

Full terms and conditions for our classes can be seen here: https://www.claycollegestoke.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/
